It rained all night. Thunder, lightening, hail. I cant sleep when it rains.
I've always had trouble sleeping. An hour or two a night when I was a teenager seemed to be enough. That was great back in the day. Ya know, school, work, party, 2 hrs sleep, school work party. I wish I could go like I use to, but now without 4-6 hours it's harder for me during the day.
The rain was wicked last night and it doesn't look like it's going to stop any time soon. So much for the kids walking to school on their first day! Well, maybe this way I can get a picture of Julien in front of the High school.
This is Elizabeth's first day of Jr. High. She was so nervous last night. I had her pack an emergency kit with band aids, a scrunchie, safety pins and other little items a girl may need sometime. We packed her emergency kit in a cute soft-sided jewelry case. She couldn't find it last night, but she was too scared to care.
I really hope Zach has a good year this year. This can be such a tough age. He is smaller than his peers and it really bothers him. The fact that he is a gifted student and actor/singer/musician, only makes things more difficult for him socially. He can be so mature and then act like he is 2! I really hope he focuses on his school work rather than on the girls and his social life. I really don't want him too grow up too fast, but I would like to see the mature guy I know come out a bit more.
Back to the rain. I am concerned about Julien's room. We usually don't get rain like this, so I hope there isn't any water downstairs. If there is, we'll get it cleaned up! It would just be a pain.
I 'll just have to wait to the world is awake to check it out. Believe it or not it is still raining. It has been raining since about 2 this morning.
The lightning really reeks havoc with my news radio. At about 6:30 I'll put on the internet radio and jam with the kids before school. We all have our favorite morning songs so I'll mix em up and hopefully we'll all be ready for a great day.
Well, joining my blog family are two exchange students in the area, Julien, my new son, and his friend Jannis from Berlin. Cool kids with a great attitudes. I'm really lucky to have them around. I learn a lot from them.
I have to admit, I found it kind of strange that they may be interested in some old lady's blog. Flattered, but strange. But hey, I may be writing about them so why not, right? I can assure my regular readers the content of my blog will not change. I will still bitch about people I don't like, fantasize about people I do, and fight for truth, justice and the anti establishment way!
So just in case the teen group is reading this... Cover your eyes on the bad words and do as I say, not as I do, or did, or what ever.
Okay, it looks like the lightning has subsided so I guess I'll hop in the shower and start the coffee.

Hope the rain subsides soon. Good luck with the school stuff :)
Thanks Fuff! Rain again today and we have an outdoor concert (They Might Be Giants) Oh well, only sugar melts in the rain!
Oh, I am just the opposite. If it's storming outside I can lay around all day with the window blind open just watching it come down.
But hope it quits soon so you can get some rest. I'm an insomniac myself and know how precious sleep can be lol.
Thanks for stopping by my ol' blog earlier. Have a good day...
I'm just the opposite.I love thunder and lightning, and can sleep like a baby when it's pouring.
