So all this serious stuff has been happening that I should be blogging about but I'm busy doing and not blogging so i feel this need to catch-up.
So here we go.
Halloween. As usual the country kids came into town, and our home is where they come. I think the next time Halloween comes on a weekend, I am going to have a grown up party-- let the kids go around town, we'll sit here and drink
Speaking of drinking, I want to thank everyone for the wonderful birthday wishes.
I really did have a great weekend. I got to meet a great blogger, spend time with good fiends and have a great dinner with my hubby.
I am going to post the pics of what i did. I'm sure you guys want to see... but I need to put the stories in too. 'cause it is more like you are there if I do that.
so here is the story behind the pics...
Review...
The Rocky Horror Show at the Mercury Theater, Chicago
When I searched for info about this play i got great info from the GLBT community, and I got info that was okay from the Off Broadway in Chicago perspective, but for the Rocky Horror buff who remembers when this show ran every midnight night in the 80's and when you got your toast, and your rice and tour squirt gun and dressed in drag to impress all the girls around you to show you were hip an with it... well those reviews are no were to be found--
So I will begin...
wait for it,
wait for it....
NOW
Rocky Horror takes on a trans (musically, no pun intended) feel at the Mercury Theater in Chicago. Yes, as an outsider looking in I assumed such a bold production during the Halloween seasons could only be pulled off by a touring company. To my surprise, this stellar cast was full of local talent!
Steve Hiltebrand Produces and directs this hot show. Hilterbrand is well known in the Chicago theater scene.
Choreographer Breanda Didier has a long list of shows under her belt including productions at the House of Blues , Goodman, & Great America -- and the moves in this show do not disappoint! Hot Hot Hot!! Yes it's great to have performers who can move, but you can tell when a talented choreographer is involved.
Speaking of talent--- every voice was on, every trust got your dirty little mind thinking and if you didn't know better you'd swearer they were all doing each other 'cause they interacted so well together!!!
I saw Dr. Frank-N-Furter Scott Alan Jones in the Full Monty, front row center mind you, and let me tell you he was just as hot in red sequence and boots!
With a confident strut and every note dead on Frank-n-furter delivered the goods.
Molly Callinan was a fantastic Magenta--- I was sweating watching her and Robert Felbinger as Riff Raff was a perfect complement to this tall sassy mamma's moves. Riff Raff has some great moves of his own.
The other cast member that must be mentioned (although they were all talented and sexy was Amy Armstrong who played Eddie / Dre Scott. her pipes were perfect for the part-- and she fooled my girlfriends who thought she was a dude until she came out to greet the crowd.
The entire cast was wonderuful (did I say that already) Oh, and cause I'm sure you want to know, Billy Konsoer (rocky) had a rock hard bad and was the prefect dumb blond on stage!
Theater is intimate, bar next door rocks (really there was a band) and has new castle on tap! And Marchello Lee is one of the hottest / guys! Thanks for talking to me about my son!!!!
If you are in Chicago and like it hot -- Check out this show at the mercury theater!!! If you are a rocky horror fan, it will not disappoint-- unless you have to have toast!
As for me and my girls, we had a blast! I don't know if I mentioned it but I broke their cherry's back in the 80's with the Rocky Horror Picture Show! Yep, I was the bad girl who took them to the mid night show-- We had a great time before and after at the pub next door. Before-- we bitched about sex--- you will see two fingers up in many of our pictures. If you are a smart liberated person, you can figure out what our "high sign" is. Um, if not, you're a boy scout--- good for you. These sexy people we are pictured with --- THE CAST who came and drank after the show.
Are these people *ucking gorgeous or what??? And a while back I mentioned about never having been in a "gay bar". Okay, this is not a gay bar, but my girlfriends were convinced we were the only straight women there!
So here are the pictures for the girls with Rocky Horror!
Speaking of boy scouts-- my hubbie took me out to see a few bands play at the Double Door. Also there were my mortgage buddy Joe and I guy i guess went to high school with, Tom.
Tom, so I've been told, was the captain of some sports team or another-- football? baseball? who knows. I looked him up in the year book. I didn't sleep with him, i don't know him.
Anyway, he was there too and it was cool seeing some one who thinks i haven't changed and that he would know me anywhere.
so ... here are those pictures
Thanks for waiting guys.
Have a great weekend!

i can't believe i have still only seen the movie of rocky horror in my house. dang.
Clearly you had the blast that you were meant to have. In fact, if there's anything more you wanted from such a night, it would be best to just keep that to yourself.
I've seen RH once as a live production; it was good but it sounds like yours was even better.
Looks to me like you were havin' all the fun mouse!..
That was an excellent review btw.Well written and insightful,and..Hey!..A chick wearin' a bra!...gotta go.
Rocky Horror...the 1980's...memories and lost innocence. Lots of 'firsts' at RHPC...some 'lasts' too..
curious -- the slide thing is easy to use (that is why I like it)
TK Kerouac-- I will vote-- and look who is talking -- the queen of fun!
Monica-- it's never too late! It is still playing in chicago, or you could go to the play, Hot tix!
JP-- said as if you REALLY know me!RH was better than I expeced, it did justice to the movie and yet had a very mondern feel
Sling-- Thank you sling. Oh the bra, i was wondering if any one would notice that! I left out the topless ones we took.
Allen--every time you post something, I wonder if you grew up here in chicago, if one of us would have killed or saved the other... just a thought
Tremendous pics - RHS is one of my all time favourite shows on stage and the film is tremendous!
You had a great time all of you then?
Rockin good time.
What a helluh good time. You DO have a fun life!
Also, the song 'Everyday Is Halloween' is awesome!!!
(but only by Ministry...Hi! I am a goth snob)
ebezp-- yes it was great fun
hat- I was going to play the one by ministry-- but i know those guys though some friends from high school and ever since the whole commercial / beer thing with that song, i just cant do it! They sold out!!! Wankers!
Happy belated birthday CM!
Sorry I missed it, but what a pressie!
Rocky Horror has got to be one of the best stage productions ever, ever ever. Praps even the best and the film is fantastic too.
PS We once went to see it when it was on in London. I don't know if this happens in the US; but in London, if you go to the RHPS, many people dress up as the characters.
Great fun :)
