Well, I was going to write a light post about high school musicals, but I now am in too serious a mood to giggle.
I live near Wisconsin and have been casually following their politics. You see, my small town, no my whole county-- wishes to defect from our state and become a part of the conservative culture of Wisconsin. Illinois is way too democratic for our republican community.
Me, I want to move to the moon at this point, I think the lack of oxygen would provide a good buzz and then I wouldn't have to deal with trying to change the world. It doesn't seem to work. About the only good I can do is try to brain wash the kids I meet into believing there is more to the world than self. Up hill all the way folks.
Wisconsin voters squelched the hopes of gay-rights activists by approving a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage.
I am once again disappointed. We live in a free country, but nothing is free. Sometimes the majority rules thing just sucks. The majority will change. Shouldn't people be more concerned about educating the young, feeding the poor and giving shelter to homeless? Why should anyone care who I, or anybody else sleeps with, or wants to marry? Isn't it between me and my God? I guess not in Wisconsin.
So what, Mr. Bushiness Man, if you have to give medical benefits to everyone? Just do what every other company is doing and don't give benefits to anyone.
I'm done. I have a rocket to catch.

You won't be able to hear me from the moon, but I'm clapping.
Hiya Dayniter,
Yep saw yer note, seems like our states are on the same Crayola-covered page. Sucks.

I know this is 'old logic', but it rings true:
-I fear cancer because it runs in my family.I am 'at-risk'.
-I fear suicide for the same reason.I am suicidal.
-I fear alcohol because I am an alcoholic.
The WingNuts fear queers because...?
If they'd just admit that being gay is no big deal, one would think they'd save themselves an awful lot of scandals in the future...
What Allan said. Brainwashing kids is good. Keep it up.
As a Wisconsinite, I am bummed that this was defeated. I'm actually glad I'm not in my office today, because the Fair Wisconsin office is in the same building as I am, and I'm sure they're depressed as hell and moving their stuff out. Bad energy in the building. And sad politics too.
LOL @ allan...
Personally, I believe any two people should be allowed to marry if they want to.
But listen up gay people! As long as its illegal, you have the perfect excuse to avoid marriage. Think about it! Straight men are given ultimatums every day by their girlfriends -- "Give me a ring or we're through".
Right now you don't have to deal with that crap! Are you insane for wanting to deal with that?? ;)
(I'm being satirical here, by the way, for those very serious people whose faces crack when they smile.)
If you do move to the moon...think I could crash on your couch? ;)
Steve~
Agree with you completely... on all counts.Keep brainwashing the kids. You may be the only sane voice they hear.
Peace,
Thailand Gal

Picking up on allan's comment...
When I was in the Army, training at Aberdeen proving grounds, there was a guy who liked to razz me about being from California.
"California is full o' queers",and other such remarks.
This went on for a couple of weeks.
One night, after one of his homophobic comments I said,"You know,When I talk to Bill or Joe or any of the other guys,we like to discuss our wives and girlfriends. All you EVER talk about is "queers"...Why is that?...
All the other guys chimed in,"No shit, what's REALLY goin' on?"
He shut the hell up after that.
Okaaaay... I know, its not allowed to say something bad about the government in the internet.. but sry.. sometimes thoose guys really 5u*K!!!
I could say, my best friend is kinda gay, but who cares???? Is he worse than other of my friends now???? NO! Why cant people just shut up about some things... If they have problems with THIS stuff.. lets go shoot 'em..
And I can only repeat something that a friend wrote me.. :P
LOvE IsN'T ABouT GeNdeR, IT iS AbOuT FelINgS
