This is a bit different than a tag, because the questions are written by the person interviewing you. They are more personal question designed just for you. Well, I kind of felt sorry for him, cause I know how it is to be tagged. I hate tagging others, so I said he could do me.
(Ya, he liked the way I phrased that too!)
1. You grew up in the city and now you live in a small town. Isn't that the opposite of the usual path? So why did it work out that way for you?
I think many city people dream of moving out into the country -- or at least the burbs. It also really depends where you grew up in the city. My experience was in a gang infested ghetto. We all wanted out. I think if I would have grown up in a more affluent area, I would have met different people and made different choices. There is a huge affordability factor too. When I started looking at homes I remember saying to myself "gee, I could wait tables and still afford this place!" Yes, I would have preferred my place on Lake Shore Drive with the white carpet so deep you cant see your ankles, and no kids and many callers. That is not my life. I have views for miles and grass--- I hate grass. I have a husband who worships the ground I walk upon and would do anything for me, I have two kids of my own who make me proud and amazed every day, and I have an exchange son who you would think is my own the way I talk about him. Maybe I should just quote John Hyatt "I never planned to live this kind of life, it just worked out this way!"
2. You hosted a foreign exchange student who recently went back home. Have you spoken to him since? Any plans to see him again?
Ahhh the Swiss Son. We chat online and send emails back and forth once in a while. I actually, I send him more than he sends me. I guess that is proof he feels I am his mom-- he treated his real mom the same way when he was state side! He still is writing that he plans to come back in two or three years (I don't how it changed to three-- it was always two when he was here) I would love to visit him and my new Swiss relatives, I hope that will happen in the next year or two.
3. You say that you've applied for a position in England. What's that all about? I am a member of Rotary International and every year our area sends a group of young business people to another country to see how similar business are run. (they can not be members of rotary) It's kind of an exchange program for business people! So they need a team leader who works well with people, is a good pubic speaker, well versed in the language of the host country, and is no more than 20 years older than the youngest team member. I thought what the heck! I know I could do the job, now I just need to convince the judges. As many of my readers know, I just finished an intense leadership course. This is just the kind of thing I was hoping to do with my new found knowledge. We'll see if it works out. My interview is on Saturday. I'm planning to put together a resume and portfolio. I would be gone for 4 weeks. My family would have to fend for themselves-- but like I said, I have an awesome family!
4. You recently took a trip to St. Louis. Why? I mean, what did you do there? We went to St. Louis, Springfield, and then up to Iowa, and New Glares. It was a Midwest road trip. Our Swiss Son wanted to see the arch, after a fellow exchange student had been there. We realized that our children had never been there. So we went to the Lincoln Museum in Springfield, the Arch in St. Luis, headed up the Mississippi river to check out a few bridges and some eagles. It was a quick trip, but the kids all did so well in the car! Its so neat to have a reason to see these things. I don't think i would have gone to the arch if he didn't suggest it.
5. Were blow jobs really like handshakes when you were in high school? And where did you go?
I am proud to say I went to Lane Tech High School in the city of Chicago. Back in the day, you needed to test to get into this Chicago Public School. Basically, it was a school for dorks, geeks, and brain-e-acks. I was ranked 26 of a class of 1150 my freshman year. I have no idea how that happened. I do remember 4 weeks into the school year, after hanging out with the Lane Tech Drinking Team, and a few other upper classmen, my home room teacher took me off to the side and said to me "Ya know mouse, I looked up your records. You have a choice to make. You could be the most popular girl this school has ever seen, or you could be the most brilliant. The choice is yours." I remember the conversation as if it way yesterday. "Do you really think I could be popular?" I came from a grammar school where I was different. Smart and school work were not things to be proud of. In my grammar school, I spoke a different language, I wore different clothing, I was everything but popular. So the idea of being popular was WOW!! I made my choice. And, I still have people who tell me they remember me from you years in high school, even though I have no clue who they are. I even had one person write me note once that they didn't want to be like me, they wanted to be me--- poor lost soul.
Oh... wait.... the bj's!!!! I think that the group I hung around with was pretty fast. We didn't have sex because it wast called oral sex back then! Casual sexual encounters were more common-- remember this is when we all thought that AIDS was something that monkeys and gay men got. Thinking back, it wasn't just my crowd. The cheerleaders were just as bad as we were. The funny thing, as I think back, is the boys. Most of the girls I knew scared away the high school boys. That is way we dated the dorks from UIC--- a whole other story!
Well I'm not going to "tag" anyone, but if you like you can email or comment to me and I'd be happy to get you a list of personal questions that you can review before you answer them. Oh, look at my labels-- do you think this post will get a few hits?

Sounds like we were a lot alike in high school, Mouse. I was the brain (#2 in my class of 456) and NOT popular, and would have killed to be popular. But I had such strict parents, I would have been locked in my room for life had I ever been a partier. And yeah, I had sex young, but for different reasons. It was still pretty hush-hush when you slept with a guy back then. Didn't want anyone thinking you were "easy"... but I wanted to be loved by a boy, and I loved this one boy desperately, so when he wanted to have sex, I complied. Ahhhh the teen years. I don't ever want to go back.
Nice answers! Very honest. I used to live in St. Louis, so I feel permitted to put it down a little. Actually, there's some great things about the town.
I asked q#5, because I went to school before blow jobs got downgraded from kinky sex to polite conversation. And like your high school guys, I would've been scared to death of any girl willing to do that (not that I didn't want it desperately!).
Thanks for playing!
Yes you'll get a lot of hits!!
Blow jobs England that's it>
Good q's and a's there really good post.
Good luck on Saturday, England is so much nearer to Switzerland isn't it?
I found this post by googling "blow jobs" and "monkeys." Probably safer to just not ask why.
Whew, I've just finished reading your blog.
You are in major transition...
Good for you7!
Surrender to it!
Everything will be fine...
