This blog contains personal, professional and political observations of mature city girl who has mooved to a small town- a town less than suburbia. It may also personal reflections on religion, sex, raising children, relationships and the state of the world as I see it. Oh, spelling doesn’t count!

ode to sling
Sling said...
I think back to the time I had been clicking on "next blog" and ran across citymouse, wondering if anyone had even read what she had to say. This post is an excellent example of why I kept coming back...Your honesty.Beautifully written CM!I've got tears in my eyes..

Once upon a time a time, not so long ago, young woman started a blog. Why? Well she was feeling very isolated. She felt here political views and personal experiences excluded her from the community in which she lived. She longed to be with a group of like minded people and felt that would never happen... So she started to write.
She would write about things in her town
Her community
Her heart
She didn’t really care if people read it when she started. She just needed a place to vent and hoped that if there was anyone else who felt the same way, well maybe she could offer them hope. Or, they could offer her hope. Who knew?
And then it happened
Someone hit “next blog”
called a post script to shhhhh
There he was…a real human being (other than my mom or uncle)
He read my blog
He made a comment
And he kept coming back!
Sling, I just want to take this moment to say thank you. You visited me, tagged me, and you commented on the word I put out into cyber space.
I know we have never met, but if you ever said…” hey mouse, I need a favor...” I would do my best to help.
YOU… yes YOU… have helped me to build my self confidence as a writer, and have said so many kind things I could never ever thank you completely.
Oh and your blog kicks ass
Sling
You rock
Thank you for you last comment, it meant more to me than you will ever know.
Love always,
Citymouse

I guess I owe Sling as well then because if he helped build your self confidence as a writer (and you are an excellent writer) I have benefited greatly.
Thank you Sling.
And thank you for starting this blog Citymouse.
i'm not the only one who knows how great you are... ;)
What a nice comment that was :)

Now you've done it!..You've rendered me speechless!...Except to say..(you knew that was coming)..We are all better off for having known you.. ;)
Great post! In the best of all worlds, I think this is what blogs are supposed to do...connect us.
That was a beautiful post=:)
To quote from Knight Rider: "One man can make a difference."
Oh, that Sling. We do love him, don't we?
Blogopia is a very cool place...the people we encounter, the friendships (and I do believe they are real friendships) that form...and all because we just want to write stuff down. It's amazing. I found my bestie JP the same way Sling found you. Amazingly random and fabulous.
when I "next blog"...I get some pro Bush nut or advertising or some "babes" photo page.
Never fails....
