The news just scares me. We live in a world that seems like a, well, a bad made for TV movie. The political scene in this world is so ultra conservative that I am really afraid to say what I feel for fear of retribution. That is the down side of a small town. Don't like a teacher and speak out-- well then your children suffer. Don't like what the school board does-- they make sure you aren't invited to the parties or don't get asked to advertise or bad mouth your business. Don't like the city council's decisions? Well the lawn police will be at your door next week to write a ticket.
Honestly I don't have too many complaints. Its just that back in Chicago you could express them and wouldn't feel like the CIA was going to come after you.
Now there is an up side to the small town thing. You do get things done. Want to change the world?
Here is the formula.
1. Move into a small town
2. Gather some people together
3. Get some great ideas and some financial backing
4. Make the founding fathers think it was their idea and there you have it -- world changed.
Only the founding fathers change your idea to fit in -- they don't take the big jumps. So the plan is done half ass and then it was all your idea when it fails.
But back to my point. Isn't anyone else worried that our kids are going to start a revaluation? Or do we have them brain washed to think that the government always does the right thing? I really hope my kids learn to think for themselves and to take the media information as one sided, no matter what side they say they are on.
I guess I should have told you something you don't know.
