Yep I've been duped.
I kept full coverage on my car, because I thought if something happened to it, I could get it fixed, and I wouldn't have to worry about the money.
WRONG!
Little did I realize that my 2001 Taurs is worth nothing, so they are totalling the car, even though it is perfectly drivable. Kelly's Blue Book says my car is worth a whole $1200! Where the hell can you buy a car that starts every day for that?
So drop your full coverages (if you can) and put the money in the bank and that way it is yours--- not some schmucks.
On a lighter note, today my baby (ha 14 years old!) leaves for his trip to Europe. 3 days in France, 7 days in Spain. I am worried, but I am also excited.
He worked hard all summer, earned the cash, and is heading on his trip out of town. When he returns home, he will be starting High School.
His sister has gotten use to him being gone, but you can tell she misses him.
I've never been to Europe. As a 14 year old, I would only go as far as public transportation or my feet would take me. I never even thought of the world as more than the north side of the city. It is a microcosm of the world, but how sad that I did not have the vision of the great world around me. I am so glad my son sees things differently.
So much history, so much adventure, he will be fine, but it may take me a while to suck it up.
